Step 8 · Backfill the Trench

Add the excavated soil back into the trench on top of the landscape fabric. Fill the trench to the original ground level. Create a slight crown or slope away from the drain path to direct surface water towards the drain inlet or the ground surface around it. Lightly compact the soil.
